A small childrens charity based in York, The Island provides mentoring services to children and young people struggling with their mental, emotional and social wellbeing. In the ten years that we have been an active charity, we have transformed the lives of many local children who have gone onto leading productive and happy lives.

In 2016 we were kindly donated a holiday flat in Bridlington which we use to offer a coastal getaway for our vulnerable children, their families and carers. The generous donation of a holiday flat has proven to enhance the wellbeing of our mentees and their families.

Having owned the flat for three years, we find ourselves in a position where we need to buy new goods for the flat.

The overall cost to furnish the flat is £250 which will allow our vulnerable families to stay in a comfortable and relaxed environment away from the stresses of their daily life.

Even a small donation will help purchase vital contents for the flat.

Should we exceed the target amount, the additional funds raised will go towards guaranteeing mentoring sessions for local York children and young people.
