Story
The Hive is a community project held at St John the Evangelist, Upper Norwood, SE19. It is funded by donations and by a small team of dedicated volunteers who give up their time every week to make sure this is a service that can be relied upon.
Every Wednesday between 1pm - 3.30pm the Hive is open for anyone in need in the community to come and have a free two course meal and socialise. You can play music, take part in art & crafts, play games, sit and talk or just take time to relax.
Please help us to continue providing this lifeline by donating what you can however small or large.
£2.50 will buy a two course meal for one person.
£5.00 will buys a two course meal for two people.
£10.00 will pay for transport to drive the people who are elderly or disabled to attend one session of The Hive.
You can donate any amount by deleting the amount suggested in the box and by typing in the exact amount you want to give.
With your donation it will ensure that we are able to continue providing the essential service we already offer, plus enable us to provide additional activities to benefit those who attend. All services are provided in consultation with the service users.
Even though the Hive is held in the hall behind the church there is no religious content and everyone is welcome from all faiths or none. St Johns is a member of the Inclusive Church Network so does not discriminate, on any level; gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. Everyone is welcome.
