The event is GRIM8. The names are Carla Raven and Jay Smith. The date is Sat 6th Dec. The challenge is an extreme (but hugely fun!) off-road adventure over 8 miles of awesome terrain. The task to run over hills, wade through water filled ravines and crawl under army camouflage netting! The location is near Aldershot on land used for testing big Army vehicles!

The reason ...partly a sense of personal achievement but also the opportunity to raise some funds for a local Hertfordshire charity called The Muscular Help Foundation (MHF). Think of it like this – we’ll be using our muscles on the GRIM8 event knowing that we’re helping kids whose muscles are broken and wasting away fulfil their MUSCLE DREAMS … whilst they still can. The charities CEO (muscular dystrophy sufferer Michael McGrath) is the only disabled person in the world to have reached both North and South Poles ~ he has set a 'record-breaking goal' to pull together the BIGGEST EVER GRIM8 TEAM in the events history. Michael is looking to recruit >40 GRIM8 'Muscle Warriors' of all ages, sizes and abilities! We've joined his team and now need you to sponsor us!

Funds raised will go towards the charities MUSCLE DREAMS programme, designed to provide unforgettable experiences for children and young people with muscular dystrophy in the UK, enabling them unity to live a dream, or perhaps fulfil a cherished ambition that for example, a family cannot afford. Muscular dystrophy remains the single biggest genetic killer of children in our world today. In the UK alone, there are some 60,000 people being robbed of their mobility, independence and finally for those with the most severe type, predominantly children, their lives.

MUSCLE DREAMS can cost anywhere from £250 to £5000 depending on what they are. Those who donate will be able to see how their support is used by following MHF’s LATEST NEWS section on the charities website … whether it’s meeting a famous TV celebrity chef, meeting the presenters off the BBC’s popular Top Gear programme or enjoying top VIP hospitality whilst watching your favourite sport!
