Story
Sitting in the pub with friends the other day, after perhaps one too many, friends commented on my "disgraceful" drinking habits...when I said I could easily give up, they laughed and one said he would give me £50 if I got to May without drinking. Thinking I may as well do it for a good cause, I pushed it a step further and I promise not to touch a drop of alcohol until June. The charity I have chosen to donate to is the Order of Malta Volunteers (OMV). The OMV are a group of young people who volunteer to dedicate some of their time to the care of the sick, handicapped or terminally ill people. I volunteered myself a few years ago and hope to do so again this summer...so please, I know its a petty thing to do, but its all for a great cause and being a 1st year student I'm sure it will be a challenge for me! I've set myself the ambitious target of £1000...and if I reach this I will also not touch a drink on the pilgrimage itself.
Just to let you know started on 22 March...
