Story
The Hospice does an amazing job of helping people and families deal with life threatening conditions like cancer. They heavily rely on fundraising to be able to provide all the services and care they offer. Anything you can spare to donate will be much appreciated and well used, to help ordinary people facing severe and terminal illness, get through some of lifes most difficult experiences. Ones we hope that we will never have to face.
Several years ago my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, she wasn't given good odds. She went through many treatments, some were less than pleasant for her to endure. The Hospice was a lifeline, providing care, support and various therapies that helped her keep going through the cancer treatment; to stay strong through the bad days, the sad days and the general distress at having to fight against something inside you that is trying to end your life. I believe that without these therapies and the support she received, it would have been much harder for my Mum to fight and beat cancer. Thanks in no small part to the Hospice, my Mum is still here with me.
To try and say thank you I have entered the Manchester 10k and the Great North Run, this is a half marathon of 13.1 miles, not something I would have ever thought I would be able to achieve a couple of years ago. This is a personal challenge for me, but to keep me going through the training and the run itself, I would be very grateful if you would sponsor me a pound or two.
