On 3rd May, Gillian, Caroline and I will be cycling 30 miles and hiking 22 miles from Fort William to Drumnadrochit for Maggie’s Monster Challenge.  I have dusted down my bike (which is falling to pieces), bought myself new hiking boots (which are too big) and am eating like a horse to build up my strength (and starting to realise that I need to do some exercise to work this off!!).  So look out for me pounding through the streets, marching up hills and whizzing along cycle paths over the next couple of months in my efforts to rise to the challenge – and I just hope that my biking and hiking experiences are somewhat more successful than they were in the 80s……….
