OK, so Gabe Mulcauley (a friend and colleague) and I are going to swim one mile across open water, on June 19th. We're taking part in the British Gas Great Swim (East) and are a little apprehensive about the murky water and wetsuits involved. We signed up last Autumn, when June 2010 seemed a hazy way off-now the moment of reckoning is drawing nigh....

We thought that after all the selflish hours of ploughing up and down the pool (in the slow lane, in my case) we should at least raise some money for charity. As we have both had close relatives die of pancreatic cancer and as it it such a terrible disease, we have decided to give any money we raise to 'Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund'.

We would be delighted to receive any donations for PCRF.
