Story
STOP PRESS: WOW! Can you believe it - we made it sound and safe, after 8 days hitch hiking through England, France, Spain and across to Africa - that's well over 1600 miles of walking (with a big backpack) and hitch hiking in a range of cars, vans, a caravan and even a sailing yacht! - right the way across to another continent!
Don't believe me? Want to hear all the stories from our adventure? Got some spare cash? Forgot to sponsor us? Well, it's not too late... you can still sponsor online until the end of May 2007. Or get in touch for the full details of the ups and downs of hitching...
Oh and it wasn't all "plain sailing" - although in the large part we had a fantastic experience and met lovely people, there was also sickness, theft, nasty night trains, con-artists, and of course the french gendarme to contend with en route! So give generously we really did put up with it all for a good cause.
Watch this space too because we'll also be hosting a big party soon to raise more money for Link, who do loads of great work to improve the Education of kids in Africa.
Latest Donations: A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE LOVELY PEOPLE WHO PICKED US UP ALONG THE WAY - many of whom drove miles out of their way to help us on our journey... thanks also of course to all those who have sponsored us so far :)
In case you forgot - Link helps kids in Africa - providing qualified teachers, books and other essential Educational material. The money you donates goes straight to the Link charity (cynics out there take note - Trina and I have not received a penny for this madness, in fact we spent rather a lot of our own money on food at motorway service stations...)
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Link Community Development will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Sponsor me now, there are still a few weeks left in which I can reach my target of £1000, an amount which will change the lives of many African kids forever
:) Cass xxx
