Story
Hi There,
In October 2009 I will be taking part in the Cycle Jordan event for the Charity "Women for Women", to fund groundbreaking research work at the Wolfson and Weston Research centre for Family Health in London, of which Professor Robert Winston is the chairman. I will be cycling 370kms across Cuba and need to raise a minimum of £3,000 to take part.
Women for Women raises funds to train women scientists and clinicians to work at the centre, empowering more women to lead in this field. They will work to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions which cause genetic disease, miscarriage, fertility, cancer and brain damage.
I wanted something that would challenge me personally, that would encourage me to push my boundaries and live my life a bit more! Which is why I decided to go for this charity bike ride around Jordan.
I also wanted to do something which would enable me to raise money for a good cause and having read the information about the research centre I really felt that I wanted to help to raise awareness about their charity and be able to contribute a significant amount to their research funding. I have worked for many years with children and families and really wanted to do my bit to help an organisation that works in an area that I am interested in. And so, here I am, raising funds for Wolfson and Weston Research Centre for Family Health, and starting on the road to getting fit and getting some cycle mileage in!

Update so far!
So far I've managed to do a fair few events, including a quiz night and a treasure hunt, with more coming up in the future.
I have been so grateful and appreciative to the family and friends that have been overwhelmingly generous in their sponsorship, and I would really and sincerly like to thank them for their help so far.
As you can see from my total, I'm "almost" half way and have six months to raise the rest, so if you haven't done so already and would like to, please do sponsor me :-) This can either be done through this website, or you can contact me personally and I can give you alternatives.
Thank you to my sponsors:
Glyn Clydach Hotel, Skewen
CarrieElspeth Jewellery
La Tasca, Swansea
Luisa Arianna, The Holistic Touch
Liberty Stadium Management Company, Swansea
Glantawe Lions Club
I do appreciate that you have found the time to visit my online fundraising page and donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Women for Women will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you very much for your support
Catherine XXXX
