Story
Hello Everyone
UPDATE - We are pleased to inform you that Mike arrived in John O'Groats at 10.45am on Thursday 2nd July after 987 miles of cycling over 87.5 hours of cycling time! PLEASE keep donating as he has done a great job and we are all very proud of him.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page to sponsor my Dad, Mike Howe, has cycled from Lands End to John O' Groats between the 7th June and 2nd July 2009 (with a 10 day break in between due to a leg injury) . Mum and Catherine followed him in the motorhome as a back up team, along with Ginny the border terrier.
As most of you know five years ago, after three years of numerous hospital visits, blood tests, a lumbar puncture and finally an MRI scan, I was unfortunately diagnosed with relapsing and remitting Multiple Sclerosis. This was a devastating blow as naturally I wondered how this currently incurable disease would change my life. Following my diagnosis and discussions with my MS Specialist, MS Nurses and my family I decided the best treatment for me was to self inject on a weekly basis a beta interferon called Avonex. This along with my positive outlook towards life and constant support from family, friends and MS Health Professionals, has meant that my symptoms are now manageable. In fact if you met me in the street, with my ever cheery smile, you would never guess I had Multiple Sclerosis.Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: MS Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. My fundrasing target of £1500 has now been reached (in fact it will have more than doubled once collected) and I still have sponsor forms dotted around Threlkeld, Keswick, Penrith and France!
Thank you for your donation.
Love Catherine aka Caggs xxxx
