Well, that's it then.  Mission accomplished.  26 miles and 385 yards shuffled around and I made it past the Queen's house and up the Mall with very wobbly legs - in the modest but respectable time of 5:23:19.  But that doesn't mean there's no time left for further donations if you feel so minded!

I ran in aid of the Welwyn-based charity, the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund.  Some of you will remember Ron who was a BBC athletics commentator, national coach and teacher.  His wife, Jean, set up the fund shortly after Ron's death in the early 1990s as an expression of his sporting ideals and with the aim of supporting talented young athletes.  The fund is proud of its early association in the careers of Marlon Devonish, Jason Gardner, Tim Benjamin, Denise Lewis and Kelly Sotherton. 

I hope that you will be able to support my efforts to raise as much money as possible for this worthy sporting cause.  Fundraising so far has exceeded all my expectations so a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to that success.

I also want to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported the quiz night at headquarters on Friday, March 28.  In total, the event raised £1,750 which included £750 in matched funding from Barclays Bank - many thanks to quizmaster Sue for sorting that out, it's a huge bonus.  The cash takings and cheques made payable to me have been added to this site.  The £376 in cheques made payable to the RPMF (already safely in the hands of Jean Pickering) have been added to the total raised offline, as has the £750 from Barclays.
