Hi everyone,

At some point in our lives at least 1 in 3 of us will be touched by Hospice care and jointly, hospices need to raise more than £1,000,000 a day just to survive.

Chelsey, aged 11, was a little girl I used to babysit for, and I became very close to her. Chelsey had profound cerebral palsy and needed care 24 hours a day but gave so much to those around her. Sadly, she died in the East Anglia Children’s Hospice in Cambridge on 25 February 2011. Her death made me realise just what a fantastic job hospices do and as I also have experience of the care provided by the adult hospice, I wanted to raise money for as many hospices as possible so decided to try for a London Marathon place to raise funds for ‘Help the Hospices.’

Running the Marathon isn’t going to be easy for me. I guess it isn’t easy for anyone but I have the added disadvantage of being a severe asthmatic. I’ve had several hospital admissions this year alone because of my condition but my Consultant says there is no reason I can’t complete the Marathon, as long as I maintain a good training regime which I fully intend do as my lasting tribute to Chelsey who touched so many lives.

Please, please HELP ME!!!

Thank you x x x
