Hi Folks,
I have decided to do the Lares Trek in Peru to Machu Picchu, (sorry its not the Inca trail..didn't book in time) for the Diabetes UK. As some of you know I have family affected by this and I am keen to keep up the support and research into this illness.
The trek is 3 days trekking about 5-6 hours a day, crossing the challenging 4440m Condor Pass. Well most of you know I am not the fittest person in the world and this will be a real challenge for me as I don't think I have done any trekking this grade before. I'll be the one wheezing and coughing at the back of the group but raising money for charity should keep me motivated. The altitude should set another challenge as it will make the trek even more hard work, I have experienced a bit of altitude sickness before so I am slightly worried but we'll see what happens.
Don't worry I shall be blogging my incredible journey so you can have a detailed account of the trek.
Thanks for your support.
Your donations are greatly appreciated and every penny counts.
Cheers everyone
Cat
