Please help to raise funds for a cause dear to my family's heart.
Three of my sisters children have received life saving care from Gt. Ormond St Hospital. I think that of the three maybe Saoirse, the youngest, was the most in need. Opposite is a picture of her when she was really very poorly indeed. Today, happily, she is a fiesty two year old, full of attitude - bossing her four big brothers around.
The care that the staff at this wonderful hospital give is second to none. In my sisters words "they are all very special". Though three children in my family have been treated, the circle of wellbeing is really much wider than that, as these kids bring joy to their parents, grandparents, aunties, friends....an endless spiral of people benefit.
So as I lace up my trainers on October 12th there will be a spring in my step as I know my nephews and nieces will be there to cheer me on...and let's face it, I'm running over thirteen miles, so I'll need all the cheering I can get!
