Story
Hello there ladies, gentlemen, colleagues, family and any other people I have met and persuaded to come to my fund raising page!
I actually found it a FANTASTIC experience, I loved every minute of it, I had no break-downs, but this was probably due to the fact that there was such a great crowd of supporters and live music, it really was an amzing experience, and yes, I would LOVE to do another one next year, not NYC again, but a new one.
As you may know, I was brought down by injury a few months prior to the event, so my training stopped for 4 weeks and then was very minimal in the few months in the run up. However, I think this must have actually been beneficial, as I ran 26.2 miles in 3 hours and 55 minutes, which was what I had originally hoped for, well anything between 3.5 and 4 hours. So rest really does work!!
This page can continue accepting donations until February, so feel free to donate to Marie Curie throuh htis simle site, they really are an amazing charity.
I decided to run for Marie Curie because I have known 2 people who they cared for in their final days/ months and know friends whose family members were too. They do a fantastic job, and being a charity, they rely on people like myself fundraising for them. ( and they are giving me some nice kit to wear on the day..:)..just kidding!!)
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
