Cancer is one word everybody is absolutely terrified of hearing, for me it was a very scary thing to think about but i always naievely assumed it would never come in contact with me or my family,it was just one of those things i thought only happened to other people. However, christmas 2006 brought that assumption crashing down as my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. Needless to say it was the most traumatic and frightening experience of my life, and it wasnt even me who had it -it was my poor mum. This experience really brought it home to me that it really can happen to absolutely anyone, and that is why i have decided to do the Edinburgh Moonwalk for breast cancer as i want to do all i can to help the on going work in trying to cure this horrible disease. On a happier note, my mum spent all of 2007 going through a few operations, millions of tests and alot of heavy treatment and as of last week she has been given the all clear!!  

We have been very lucky, but not everyone is-so please please give generouslly as it really is a brilliant cause!

Walk the Walk is a charity not only committed to raising money and awareness for vital breast cancer causes but are also passionate about encouraging women and men to become healthier, fitter and to take charge of their own well being.
