Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Phil and I are getting ready for our biggest challenge to date - if you take getting married out of the equation that is! We are going to attempt to trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in October 2010 to raise money for local animal charity Animals in Need.

This is no easy task and will be the highest we have ever climbed with the summit at 5752m. We will be battling with altitude sickness as well as doing a staggering 19.5km on the summit day alone, starting shortly after midnight to make our final ascent by the light of the full moon. This is a 7 day trek which sees us summit on day 6. Many people do not make it to the top as they are overcome by the difficult conditions or altitude sickness along the way.

We are hoping that the knowledge we are raising money for such a good cause will spur us on to our goal. We are funding the trek ourselves but we are aiming to raise £2500 as sponsorship for local animal sanctuary Animals in Need. This year the sancuary celebrates it 20th Anniversary of caring for both domestic and wild animals and hopefully with the help of your donations they will be able to continue their good work for alot longer. The sanctaury has a website www.animals-in-need.org where you can read about the sancutuary and all the good work that they do as well as the animals that are looking for new homes.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you

Caroline & Phil
