Help me raise money for the dedicated staff that helped my daughter!!! Xxx
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At first I had the idea to trek the Sahara Desert for my own personal 'once in a life time' achievement! After thinking about it I decided to put a positive purpose to doing the trek.......................................................
I would like to raise money for the Royal Brompton Hospital, a hospital that specialises in hearts and lungs!
This would be to say a BIG THANK YOU for all the support and dedicated hard work they have all given to my daughter, Becky.
Becky has a very rare heart condition called Pulmonary Stenosis, also with narrowing of the main Arterys to the heart.
Becky had open heart surgery when she was 3 months old, this was a hard time for all of us. Becky still seemed to be this little baby that would always keep smiling as if nothing was wrong!
As a parent this is one of the most devastating situations I have ever been in! The hardest part about being a mother, I found, was not being able to help Becky the minute I had to leave her to go into theatre, it was all out of my hands and my sense of control had been taken!
We were told Beckys operation would take 5 hours. Beckys procedure was completed within 3 hours, even though this felt like a life time of waiting, the surgeon and the team were extremely dedicated! I felt we had such luck on our side to be told the surgeon had experience of performing this operation not only once but twice before Beckys!
Becky is now a healthy 6 year old. More procedures will have to be carried out in the future. Becky has yearly appointments with the same surgeon who performed her operation and who will also be performing future procedures!
I cannot express how much love, care and support we all recieved from every member of staff!!!
People do not realise how many babys and young children are born with heart conditions, some that have not been detected for a long time........as we found out!!!!
I would like to take this oppertunity to get people to donate as much as they can, I strongly believe we need to raise/donate money to this hospital to get more staff the appropriate training for the future and more equipment!
The money raised will go to ' ROSE WARD' and 'PICU'. To raise money for these departments would be the BEST THANK YOU I could ever give from us all and Becky!
Becky was one of the little babys on ROSE WARD helped by the PICU!!!!!!!!!!!
SO PLEASE...........................................A LITTLE CAN BE A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
