Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
This is Joseph Kielty, who is 9 years old and suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. It is on his behalf - and the thousands of other young sufferers - that the team will be raising funds for by walking the length of the Hadrian's Wall pathway. The walk will cover the 80 mile distance from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Bowness-on-Solway, during the period from 6th to 11th September.
Along the way we will be battling factors such as:
1) wind;
2) rain (well, it's bound to be, it's England in the summer);
3) Noel's dubious map-reading abilities (has got lost on the way to more football league grounds than he cares to remember and - no folks - he still doesn't drive!);
4) Gill's inability to walk for more than 5 minutes without wanting to sit down for a cup of tea;
5) Doreen's inability to sit still - she'll have us walking through the night;
and
6) Doug's driving support - no - he will literally be driving the support vehicle.....purely to carry Noel's packed lunch.
All of the funds raised will go to the CF Trust, to continue their work to improve the lives of people like Joseph with CF, raise the profile of CF and fund research into a cure for this condition.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure.
