Story
As many of you already know I have decided to take the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro on December 3rd. This is going to be an incredibly demanding yet rewarding challenge. I will be doing this amazing climb to raise money for the MS Society to help continue the research for either a cure or long term treatment for this life changing illness.
My husband James was diagnosed with MS in December 2007. This came as a total shock to us all. James has dealt with his diagnosis well and continues to feel fit and healthy. This is largely due to the support and care he receives from the MS team at the RVI Hospital.
Multiple Sclerosis(MS) is a complex and stressful disease of the central nervous system where the nerve covering myelin is attacked and damaged. This will then interfere with messages being sent to parts of the body. This can lead to symptoms ranging from partial blindness, chronic fatigue, loss of speech and bladder control. For some people, MS is characterised by periods of remission but for others it is instantly and chronically disabling.
I hope that you will support me with my challenge by donating something to the MS Society.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they will send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. It is the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I thank you in advance for your help in supporting me reach the top of Mount Kilimanjro in aid of MS!
Many Thanks
Charlie
