Story
I'm raising money for the 'Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund' in memory of my mum who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on valentines day 2013. It came as such an awful shock to her family and friends. Mum had always been a very active person out walking her 2 dogs and dining out at various pubs and restaurants with her friends. Mum loved to potter around in her garden and give her friends various seedlings which she had planted herself. Mum would do anything for anyone and she is sorely missed by all her family and friends and everyone else who knew her.
As mums only daughter I haven't just lost my mum but also my best friend, I did everything with her and saw or spoke to her every day, she was amazing with my 2 beautiful daughters who are now almost 5 and 3 who miss her terribly. They always say Nanny when they see pictures of her, but they know Nanny is sleeping.
It is very important to me to be able to do this trek of the inca trail in Peru in memory of mum as it was somewhere that mum always wanted to visit and as she was taken away from me so quickly, her prognosis was months and mum lived little over a month after her diagnosis with pancreatic cancer. I don't want other people out there to go through what I've been through which is why I strongly believe in more research being done to diagnose pancreatic cancer earlier and prolonging lives for longer.
