Story

Personal message

Yes - you're not seeing things, I am attempting to trek and camp through the forbidding mountainous terrain of Lesotho (Southern Africa) on behalf of Childline. This will be a great personal challenge having never camped, treked, or been without my hairdryer and a supply of wine before. However it will be worth it, knowing that I’m helping contribute to the raising of crucial funds.

So think of me with blistered feet and smelly walking shoes  and please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor: ChildLine will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

Childline

Last year ChildLine counselled almost 120,000 children and young people about a wide range of problems. Many of these children were in great distress; others were in danger of being hurt or hurting themselves. ChildLine met with thousands of children in UK secondary schools through CHIPS (ChildLine in Partnership with Schools). The charity also helped many thousands more children who needed straightforward advice or information.

But as well as listening to children, ChildLine gives them a voice - taking what they say about their lives and relaying it to policy-makers, parents and people who work with children, so that children’s lives can be changed for the better.

ChildLine believes that no child should have to suffer abuse, be terrified to go to school, or live in fear. Find out more at www.childline.org.uk

ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
