Fundraising for The Transplant Trust

I did it! I completed the London Triathlon 2008 (sprint distance) on 9th August this year in 1 hour, 57 mins, 16 secs. I surpassed my expectations and am absolutely thrilled with the result. Needless to say I'm still carrying my medal around with me... The swim was probably the best bit as I managed to pass a lot of people, the bike was fine but there was a vicious wind (and at one point, hail) and the run was tough but given it was last, it was never going to be easy. I loved it and am feeling very proud of myself.
The race consisted of a 750m swim, a 20km bike ride, and then a 5km run. It all took place around the Docklands in East London with the swim actually taking place in the Thames!
Whilst I did the event purely as a personal challenge, I'd like to use this opportunity to raise some money for The Transplant Trust. The Trust raises vital awareness of the importance of organ donation as well as being the only charity in the UK to fund research across all transplantation disciplines with the clear objective to improve the lives of patients and families affected by transplantation. Some of you know that I am a kidney transplant recipient myself (twice over) and whilst I've been incredibly lucky, there are thousands out there who are waiting for an organ, or are struggling with the effects of transplantation. Any funds I can raise for the Transplant Trust will go towards supporting transplant patients and their families as well as undertaking research into the issues brought about by transplantation. So even though I've completed the event, please sponsor me to help raise some money.
