Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
The Sichuan province quake – measuring 8 on the Richter scale – is the worst earthquake to hit the country in 30 years. More than 60,000 people have been confirmed dead, with another 350,000 injured and around 24,000 still missing.
More than five million people have been left homeless and in some towns, 80 per cent of buildings – including schools, hospitals and factories – have been destroyed.
The PwC China Business Centre has put together a team of 30 people to race in the Dragon Boat Festival next Sunday 8th June at the London Regatta Centre to raise money for the victims. All the donation you make will be Matched by the firm's Matched Giving Programme up to £250/person.
We aim to raise funds through the British Red Cross in order to promote sanitation and hygiene, to help reduce disease following such disasters. This is urgently needed in the region as shortages of clean water and warm, humid weather are creating a serious risk of epidemics.
So please sponsor us now!
