To mark my 40th Birthday milestone I have decided to embark on an unforgettable challenge. I have signed up for a charity bike ride from Lands End to John O’Groats starting at the beginning of September. It involves covering 1000 miles over 13 days averaging 80 miles per day. The reason for taking on such a “bum numbing” ride is not just a mid-life crisis but a chance to raise money for a couple of charities that have touched my life in the last couple of years.
Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) have been extremely supportive since my nephew Sam Parsons was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer aged 19. They have helped him battle his illness and returned him to lead a normal teenage life. Y Bwthyn Hospice inSouth Wales offered my late mother in law Pauline fantastic support after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. As a small self funded unit it will be a great way to say thank you for the help and support they offered Pauline in difficult times.
Please no presents or cards for my birthday. Any generosity please put towards sponsoring me.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Exeter Leukaemia Fund/Y Bwthyn gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
