My gorgeous girlfriend Cath was diagnosed with autonomic dysfunction almost 3 years ago which means her blood pressure cannot be controlled correctly. As a result, she faints multiple times a day amongst other symptoms, leading to a 9 week stay in hospital and a dramatic affect on her lifestyle since.
 
As some of you may know I ran the Edinburgh marathon last year for STARS and this year I thought I'd try and do something a bit more challenging. As such I will be cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End, covering 3 countries and ~950 miles in 8 days. My aim is to raise £1 for every mile I cycle so all donations however small will be gratefully appreciated.
 
I'm cycling for Stars as they do a huge amount of work in raising awareness and improving understanding of syncope related issues. The issues range from fainting, tachycardia, fatigue and restricted blood flow to the brain. All these types of issues can make life very difficult for those that suffer with these issues.
 
Cath is my inspiration in life and my motivation for completing this challenge. I have to also thank my parents in advance for the support vehicle they are going to provide on route! Stars have helped Cath through the condition, providing greater understanding of the condition and linking her with a support network for all the questions she comes across.
