I have a place again on The Royal British Legion’s Pedal to ride in September 2010 for which I have been training hard!  Hundreds of cyclists will be taking part and raising funds for the Legion at the same time.

We will start from , on 2nd September and finish 440km later at the Arc de Triomphe itself on 6^th September.  It’s a long way, but I am keen to take up the challenge, especially for such a good cause.

Cycling an average of over 100km per day is just one side of the story – I know that I will be helping men and women who risked their lives in many conflicts, including Northern Ireland, the Gulf War, Bosnia and the Falklands.  The Legion works hard supporting them, their dependants and families and, like all charities, they need every penny they can raise.

In the months leading up to the event, each cyclist has been asked to raise a minimum amount in sponsorship, but I will be trying to reach my personal target of £1500.  I would greatly appreciate any contribution from you, no matter how small.  To help you make a positive decision in sponsoring me, a web link that tells you about the work and services of The Legion can be viewed at www.britishlegion.org.uk.
