Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising site.
On 25th November of last year my brother Chris passed away after a short, valiant battle with cancer. The site of the primary tumour was never found, and as such it was treated as cancer of unknown primary tumour. It was an extremely rare and aggressive type of cancer, and out of 40,000 patients treated annually at Christie's , only 5 or 6 have this type. Chris was one of them. Much research is needed to improve diagnosis and treatment of this cancer, to help prolong the lives of those who have it.
My mum Kath, dad Geoff, brother Dave and I, my friends Lucy, Ed and Martin, and my cousin Sue and her husband Mike are doing the Coast to Coast walk in April to raise money for Christie's. It is a 191 mile walk and will be done over 14 days. We are finishing the walk in Robin Hood's Bay on 21st April, what would have been Chris's 32nd birthday.
Most of you probably knew Chris and what an amazing and enthusiastic person he was. We are taking his enthusiasm and passion for life as inspiration for this walk. Your interest and sponsorship is greatly appreciated. Chris received excellent care at Christie's, the doctors and nurses showed great expertise and compassion, and your money will go straight to the Chris Andrew tribute fund we have set up there. Many thanks.
