UPDATE: All done and dusted.  A fantastic day with some inspirational people and so many great causes being supported.  Managed 1:39:15 which I'm delighted with.

Thanks again to those who sponsored.

=============================================================

Thanks for visiting my page.  Having just missed out on Team GB, I wanted to channel my energies into something worthwhile and meaningful this summer.  So here I am having joined Team RNID with 13 miles of half-marathon ahead of me.

I chose RNID as I'm sure that most of you have been on the wrong side of my deaf ear at some stage, and have patiently had to repeat things so that I could hear what you've said.  Luckily my deafness doesn't impact on my day-to-day life.  The same however can't be said for millions of people across the UK.  I've become increasingly involved with the work of the RNID over the last 12 months so I wanted them to benefit from me running this year's Bupa Great North Run.

RNID aim to make daily life better for deaf and hard of hearing people supporting them at home and at work.  The charity provides advice and practical solutions.  If you know someone who is partially deaf, has tinnitus or wears a hearing aid, chances are that they have benefited from the great work of RNID somewhere along the line.

Thanks for supporting me (financially and emotionally) and make sure you get value for money and watch me struggle home on BBC1 on Sunday 5 October.  Please give as generously as you can afford to, and in 4 years at London 2012 when the Team GB dream becomes a reality, you can say that you were with me from the start of the journey!

Thank you,

Chris
