Fundraising for Walk the Walk
Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me for the Newcastle Sunwalk on 19th July 2009.
We did it - 10K - no problem!! It was a fantastic day, the sun shone (despite it being really wet the week before and we feared another cancellation) and Niki, Eve and I were joined by Hilary, another supportive friend who also fought breast cancer in 2008.
We were all joined by our families for a picnic (Mum and Dad came over + Paul's brother and family) and we stayed all afternoon listening to a fantastic band and meeting up with other friends of ours who were also walking. The children all had a go at circus juggling and the walkers enjoyed a leg massage. Sure we will all sign up for next year - perhaps the half marathon next time?
One of my consultants told that me now my treatment was over "it was time to step out of the shadow of breast cancer and into the sunlight". I certainly did that on Sunday at the Sun Walk and now look forward to a brighter future.
