Hi, thanks for visiting my page. No I'm not a runner, but for my sins I've entered the Great North Run on 5th October. It's 13.1 miles (i.e. a half marathon), and the longest distance I'll have run by far. I’m currently training by running on the lanes near us. I’d like to say that I’m inspired by the beautiful views of the Yorkshire Dales, but this summer they’ve been obscured by the near constant rain and cloud. Anyway training is going well and I’m hopeful that I will be able to do the distance on the day, hopefully in under 2 hrs 30 minutes.
I'm running for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, which is a particularly awesome charity as not only do hearing dogs change the lives of their deaf owners, but the dogs themselves are often from rescue centres, so this is one of the few charities that benefits both people and animals.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Hearing Dogs For Deaf People gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please, please, please sponsor me generously, and look out for me on the telly on the 5th (I'll be near the back!). Many thanks.
Christine.
