Thank you to all you amazing people for helping us reach our target and for saving lives in Africa! You are all very special people- have we inspired any of you to take up your own challenge? Wish us luck for Sunday! Thanks again from us all and from all the people who can't thank you themselves x
Water is essential for life, yet one in eight of the world’s population do not have access to it and almost 40% of the world’s population do not have adequate sanitation. Drinking, sanitation, and hygiene needs constitute the basic human survival needs for water.
These minimum requirements total about 50 litres per person per day. In parts of Africa, Women and Children have to walk an average of 5km a day to access water, which is often from unprotected water sources, such as rivers or muddy dugouts.
‘Team EPP’ Becky, Charlotte, Clare, Louise and Sarah will walk 5km and carry 50 litres of water between us as a way of raising awareness and to raise money for Disasters Emergency Committee DEC to support the relief effort in East Africa.
Filling our water containers in Himley Lake, the route takes us through the park, in to Baggeridge Country park and back, returning the water to the lake at the end.
Please be generous and sponsor us so that we can raise loads of money for this worthy cause. Its unfathomable that people should be suffering as they are in Africa today, don’t be stingy, get your wallet out and pledge what you can. There’s the Bob Geldof bit....now just do it!
Thank you from us, and on behalf of all those who can’t thank you themselves.
