Story

Madness!  That's the usual reaction.

Why?  That's the first question.  Clare's Mum was diagnosed with MS seven years ago, so we see first-hand the help and support the MS Trust provide.  Also, MS is the most common cause of neurological disability in young adults in the UK, (although I'm not sure Clare's Mum counts as a "young adult" any more!).  Over 50 people are diagnosed with MS every week.

How far is it?  That's the 2nd question.  Well, the answer is it's a very long way!  450km to be exact, which is the distance from Winchester to the Scottish border, as the crow flies!

We leave Greenwich on 2-Jul-2008, along with 30 or so similarly deranged cycling enthusiasts, and make our way to Dover (on very pointy saddles!) to catch our ferry.  The next morning we set off from Calais, and over the next 3 days make our way to the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

We then turn round and do it all again to get home!     (only kidding - we're getting the train back!)

Some of the sponsorship money will be put towards the costs of accomodation and the support team, so please make your donation before April so we can get it all booked up.  We can then focus on training!

Thank you for your support.

Wish us luck!

Clare and Dan

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: MS Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
