Story
WE DID IT !! Our times were: Clare 4 hours 37 mins, Laura 5 hours 17 mins. Clare has now caught the bug and is planning her next one, Laura is going to try a half marathon next time.
The race itself was v well organised and the support from the crowds was incredible (thank you New York!). The sisters made a lovely pink banner which was the envy of all 38,366 other runners...
I won't go into our various continence problems, or the fact that Laura went a little loopy at the end and spent 30 mins squatting in the middle of the street under an emergency blanket, rocking back and forward....
By 5pm we were in our pyjamas being served pizza in bed by Emily and Paula, and the following night we celebrated with Bollinger and scallops at a great bistro in the Meat Packing District.
Thank you all very much to everyone who supported and encouraged us...and a very special thanks to leading philanthropists Brian Hunt, Hattie McWatters, Niall & Ailsa Stirling, David Lloyd, Lindsay Swan, Andy Dunn, the Hinchliffs, Simon Stronach, Angie McLean, La Famille Sassier, Sam Williams, Andrew Malvisi, Mum Joof , the Rockfish team and Steve Murray!
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all!
