Story
59 student volunteers ( and a polar bear). 1 international summit. 1000 kms. 1 big problem. Lots of kindness from strangers. You supporting us?
Climate change is happening, right now. And it’s the world’s poorest people – those least responsible for causing it – who are paying the heaviest price. At a landmark meeting in Copenhagen this December, world leaders have their best chance yet to build a safer future for us all. The summit has been called the most important meeting in the history of humankind.
We want to make sure that as many people as possible know and care about what's happening. That's why 60 of us have volunteered to throw ourselves at the mercy of strangers and hitchhike from Liverpool and Manchester to the talks. We will be talking to everyone we meet on the way and sharing their messages at the talks. It won't be easy, it won't be quick but it will be interesting.
All the donations you make will go to supporting an Oxfam project that is helping some of the world's poorest people in Nepal and Bangladesh who are already being affected by climate change.
When making a donation please mention the team you are supporting so we can track how much each team has raised, messages of support more than welcome.
Keep up to date with our progress during the Charge.
