Story

Dear All

In September this year, Alice, Emily, Charlotte and Comps are going to blow you all away with their bravery. Once you've stopped laughing and picked yourself off the floor at the thought of us all voluntarily jumping out of a plane from 10,000ft, we're sure you'll feel the need to sponsor us for what we feel is an amazing cause.

As many of you will know, Al works with the Alzheimer's Society as a New Partnerships Manager, and has a frequent dangerous desire to do charitable things....obviously for the rest of us who are roped into joining her this can have a tendency to be a little dangerous. This one has to be one of her best though. By the time she and Charlotte had arrived at Comps' house for dinner one night, they had the plan in action. We were all to jump out of a plane and skydive 10,000ft to raise money for Alzheimers. Comps obviously agreed after a couple of glasses of vino. Emily took no persuading.

So our dear friends, we know that times are tough, but we need to continue to raise awareness and bucket loads of money for this fantastic cause. We'd love you to put whatever you can towards us scaring the living daylights out of ourselves. We will be obtaining videos of the jumps for you all to laugh at, and if it was legal we'd all be drinking a pint of vodka to calm ourselves before hand...as it's not, you can guarantee we'll be making up for it afterwards.

We are hoping to raise £2000 of MUCH needed funds to help support the fantastic work we do.  The Alzheimers Society are the only charity in the UK dedicated to the care and research of dementia, and help over 30,000 people a week through their branch services.

And now for the science bit...

  • 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 will die with dementia
  • 700,000 people in the UK currently have dementia and this is set to exceed 1million by 2025
  • Dementia is not a natural part of getting older, it is a disease of the brain that robs people of their lives

In advance, a massive thank you
And much love
Al, Emily, Charlotte and Comps
