Story
Bernie Henderson, a trustee of Communication Matters, will be running in the London Marathon for the third time. He completed the first in 1981 and once more in 2005 when he was dressed as Rupert Bear, the mascot of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign (MDC).
This year Bernie will again be running in a Rupert Bear outfit for MDC, but is asking everyone involved in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to sponsor him to raise funds for Communication Matters.
All the funds raised will be used to support the work of the charity, including the provision of a telephone helpline, literature, road shows, conferences and other events to increase public awareness, understanding and knowledge of the needs of people with complex communication needs.
Please dig deep and sponsor him online (please leave a message – he needs all the encouragement he can get!).
Donating through the site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor him: Communication Matters will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you for your support!
