Story
I'm walking with my friend John and others along the way, in Alfred Wainwright's footsteps across England, going 'Coast to Coast'.
Starting from the Irish Sea to the North Sea (St Bee's in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire) the walk is a long distance challenge across 190 miles, crossing moorlands, mountains and linking three national parks.
Alfred Wainwright was a renowned writer and fell walker creating intricate and infamous walking guides across the Lakelands - his Coast to Coast walk is now our challenge to meet.
In his words: "One should always have a definitive objective in a walk as in life - it is so much more satisfying to reach a target by personal effort than to wander aimlessly. An objective is an ambition, and life without ambition is....well, aimless wandering". A Wainwright.
I hope you feel inspired to help, and to help others get the start they need through the DofE.
