Starting May 20th 2016 I will ride 700 miles by bicycle from Oceanside pier CA to the Grand Canyon in honor of my mum, Joan Stokes who passed away this Christmas. As a toddler growing up in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, mum transported me everywhere by bike. She was also my trusty companion as I later started to explore the country lanes around our home under my own steam. I was 40 before I broke her cycling distance record. It seems only fitting that I use a bicycle to raise money on her behalf.

Mum lived in the tightening grip of Parkinson's disease for over 15 years. I created this fundraising page to benefit Parkinson's UK.  With your support we can help the charity's mission to make life better for people with Parkinson’s.
