War Child is an international child protection agency that works with the most marginalised children - child soldiers, street kids and children in prison - in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. War Child believes it is unacceptable that children continue to be victims of war. In the last decade alone 1.5 million children have died in wars. Four million have been disabled and a further 10 million traumatised. We provide vital, on the ground support programmes in each of the conflict zones we work in but also lobby politicians and governments to ensure our cause and the rights of children affected by war remains high on the public and political agendas. This approach allows us to ensure every pound we receive goes as far as possible - not only to the crucial projects in the field, but to ensuring children caught up in conflict, no matter where they may be, have a chance to be protected. We work where other agencies do not, reaching the most at risk children in the most dangerous war zones and your support means we can continue to do so. War Child looks forward to a world in which war is not prosecuted on children.

My story

We are the COFFIN DODGERS!!!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor our cranky selves: War Child will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

War Child works with children who have been hit hardest by some of the recent wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. This includes imprisoned children and those on the street. Their aim is to tackle poverty, conflict and social exclusion alongside other organisations including government initiatives

We are driving 2052 miles starting in Fakeham (Norfolk). It all begins in Brussels on the 24th May and continues for 7 days through Munich, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Shkoder, Bitola and finishing in Corfu.

We consist of four Norfolk characters; leg-ends in our own right, starting with the first:

Reuben Lowe - Chris Moyals wannbe with a passion for Hardcore and various other aggregates. Influences - S Club 7 and Keith Chegwin.

Kieran Lowe - deranged sound engineer, resembling a pole cat with a passion for steam. Influences - Fred Dibnah.

Aaron Barnham - Gay builder with a difference. Aspirations of winning the blind as a bat award. Influences - Kylie & Ronnie Barker.

Scott Olive - a.k.a Budgie "Who's a pretty boy then?" Carpenter extrordinaire - yes this boy can make a gold standard coffin in under 25 minutes. Business plug adverisment: Coffins R us

Our theme will be of the dark nature. The vehicle will be a hearse which includes a sleeping facility for one..... the coffin!!! Also equipped with humouress undertakers costumes. kind of "Pricilla Queen of the Desert meets The Adams Family" type thing. yeah?
