Story
1st April - Cake Sales - As many of you will be aware, we have been busy holding cake sales over the last 4 weeks in the canteen at Uniq Northampton. The cake sales have been a huge success and and I'm sure everyone is sad to see that they have come to an end! Thanks to eveyone who has donated cakes and especially to Kim Cook who has been busy organising everyone! Thanks to all of the cake lovers at Northampton, we haveraised a staggering £295!!!!!
1st April - Quiz Night & Raffle - Thanks to everyone who supported this event on Thursday night, photos available on our website. The Quiz Winners were 'Kids fom the Shire' aka Jo Hull, Mike Hind, Ryan Sutton, Fiona Williams & Sally - each team member winning an engraved medal & a bottle of wine. We also need to mention the 'Wooden Spoon Winners' aka Nicola Rowe, Helen Dixon, Audrey Pearce, John Riddy & Karen May who were Team 'TFB'! Well done to everyone who took part and to all of the raffle prize winners. With your support we managed to raise a further £150 for our cause, THANK YOU!
24th April - The event..............................Mini RIDGE WALK – to complete 31 miles and climb 2,300 ft in 15 hours.
This team challenge will test us both physically and mentally. The trekking will be tough, the day will be long and at times I'm sure we'll question individually and as a team whether we can complete The RIDGE WALK! We will need to be physically and mentally prepared to keep on going, to push the boundaries and by working together, hopefully we will find that anything is possible.
What can your fundraising efforts do for Sense?
£5 – Could buy a set of musical bells to help stimulate even the tiniest amount of a deafblind child’s hearing in music therapy.
£15 – Could pay for a tactile book to develop a child’s sense of sight and touch at a Sense family centre.
£25 – Could buy an interactive light tube to help stimulate a deafblind child’s remaining sight.
£50 – Could help pay for a deafblind child’s vital first assessment.
£700 – Could send a deafblind child on a dream holiday. These holidays not only provide life-changing experiences, full of fun, learning and special care but they also give carers and family members a well earned break allowing them to spend more quality time with other children and family.
£1,000 – Could enable Sense to buy a sonic chair at one of their day centers enabling more deafblind people to benefit from these sensations. Operated by a large button control these chairs heat up, massage different parts of the body, and vibrate at different frequencies.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
