We care for children with short lives to ensure that no family faces this alone
Story
Last summer a dozen brave individuals from Confused.com
tackled the 3 peaks challenge and in the process raised a whopping £6,000 for
Ty Hafan! How do we possibly top that I hear you ask? Simple – we send twice as
many people up the mountain next time.
Over two weekends in June we’ll be sending 23 people up Ben
Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all within a 24 hour period. It’s going to be
a long, arduous, sleep deprived experience for all involved and the only thing
that will keep them going is the thought that they’re putting themselves
through all this pain and discomfort for an awesomely good cause.
The foolhardy hikers are:
Steve
Williams, Cathryn Dean, Dave Trickey, Gemma Stanbury, Darren Black, Alex Higgs, Danny
Foulkes, Gareth Kloet, Damon
Bedgood, Gareth Lane, Greg Steel, Elaine Cooper, Sharon
Flaherty, Steve
Sanders, Sarah
Baldwin, Chris Gurner, Nerys
Sterling, Allie Craig, Jamie Jones, Dan Mines, Simon
Williams, Phillip Quinn
All supported by their able team of drivers:
Simon Lamble, Rob Powell, Steve Bright, Ian Griffiths
So come on, dig deep and support your friends and families
by sponsoring this endeavour. Whatever you can spare will go towards supporting
one of the most worthy charities in South Wales.
About the charity
Tŷ Hafan helps life-limited children, young people and their
families make the most of the time they have left together. Not only is Tŷ
Hafan a home from home providing specialist palliative care, but it also offers
a much needed source of strength, respite and support for the whole family.
From diagnosis to bereavement and beyond it takes its support right into the
heart of the family home. For Tŷ Hafan to offer this unique service completely
free of charge to families in Wales, it has to raise over £2.5 million every
year.
Sadly, thousands of families in Wales live every day knowing their child’s life will be short. At the moment, they often face this without any care or support. Alone. Afraid. Isolated. Tŷ Hafan’s ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own.
