For the last couple of years we have had the nagging feeling that we should do something to give back to the greater good. Our first thought was of running a marathon, in the spirit of setting a challenge, and achieving it. After talking to a number of people who have done such a thing, we quickly realised that this would require dedicating about 4 months to pounding the streets of London during the cold, winter months. Not so appealing.
So we looked a little further a field to the slightly more glamorous (?) task of climbing Kilimanjaro. And now, after speaking with a number of people who have done such a thing, it would appear that it is not such a glamorous option after all. A significant percentage of people do not make it to the top, whilst a less fortunate (and thankfully much smaller percentage) do not make it back at all…
However, it is in aid of those who without the help of our charity - Get Kids Going would not have the chance of doing something so amazing. Get Kids Going is a charity which helps disabled children get into sport by organising trips and buying equipment. On the 22nd August we will be going for it (all 19,341ft / 5,885m of it) so please dig deep and sponsor us.
