Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

2019 is our 5th year cycling in support of Calum’s Cabin. Thirty cyclists from across the UK, and mainly from the construction industry, are taking part in an 80 mile cycle across Argyll & Bute that will start and finish in Rothesay and will include visits to Calum’s Cabin and Callum’s Cottage. It’s a fantastic cycling route across wonderful countryside and scenery, but that’s not why we do it..........we do it because Calum’s Cabin is a great charity to support.

The Charity was established following the sad death of 12 year old Calum following diagnosis of a brain tumour. Before his passing Calum and his family decided that they would like to help other families dealing with a child with cancer by providing a holiday home to visit  on the Isle of Bute. The idea became a reality and for over ten years many families have enjoyed well deserved breaks at either the Cabin, Cottage and Mount Stuart estate. The charity has provided wonderful support for so many, but sadly demand is on the increase, so it is vital that charity, led by Caroline, Duncan and Jenna Speirs, receives support to enable them to continue to offer fantastic facilities for those who deserve special respite breaks from the daily challenges that most of us are fortunate not to experience.

As a bunch of keen cyclists we are delighted to play our part and we will welcome your support to exceed our fundraising target.
