Story

We did it!! Have a look at the photos on our blog!

On the morning of the 2nd October a team of cyclists from Consult (So far Myself, Alan, Sheila, Simon) left our HQ near Winchester on a route that will took us through the country roads down to the port of Portsmouth and across to France, we then picked up the Seine Valley and heading inland and arriving in Paris on the fourth day.

It was hard work particularly as Simon and Bill have been in the world of bringing up toddlers over the past few years and any regular sports have been put on hold! This left Alan and Sheila to lead the way......our idea of mixing an outward bound event with a really worthwhile cause was thought of during a brisk walk to a meeting along the South Bank....who would have thought that we would actually be going through with it!

Humour aside, this was a fantastic opportunity for us to do something really worthwhile and raise some important funds for families who genuinely need them - there are children and parents experiencing the kind of distress most of us have never experienced and could not contemplate. It means something for us all here to help.
What Rainbow support means:

Support means being with a bereaved mother who is on her hands and knees threatening suicide, who by the time we leave the house, many hours later, is able to laugh at her self

Support is comforting a distraught surgeon, after he had to tell a family that their child had died while he was operating on her

Support is making cakes with child propped in a high chair, because he was too weak to stand, and only had a week left to live

Support is reassuring a sibling that cancer isn’t a big bad monster coming to get him too

Support is listening on the phone while a mother sobs her heart out, because the weather is cold, and her son has been buried without an overcoat

Support is letting parents know that it’s alright to be in the bed with their child during death. That it’s alright to keep the child at home if they want, that it’s alright to take time to say goodbye

Without going all Bob Geldof on you it would would much appreciated if you could help us to raise some funds to help Rainbow continue this support  - any donation is genuinely appreciated - Thank you
