Story

UPDATE 12/07/10

Run complete! All of us got down to London yesterday and got round the 10K course in bright summer sunshine (picture to follow soon!). It was a great event with a really positive atmosphere - and going into the race knowing that we had reached our fundraising target of £1,000 was just fantastic.

Thank you so much to all of you who supported us! We've raised just over £150 offline as well, plus the NAS did quite well in our World Cup sweepstake (they had Germany and Holland). All of this cash will be going towards supporting their work in West Berkshire with people with autism and their families.

This Just Giving page will remain active for a couple of months, so if you are visiting and meant to support us, please feel free to make a donation! (At least now you can be certain that we actually made it!).

----------

Well, we're doing it... We might be more accustomed to sitting in comfy theatre seats and ordering interval drinks, but on 11 July we are swapping this sedentary existence for running shoes, sweat and pain. We are six would-be runners from the Corn Exchange, Newbury, and we're raising money for the National Autistic Society. Getting round the London 10K is the challenge and we need your support to make it worthwhile!

Corn Exchange Newbury has a nominated charity each six months, and during Summer 2010 we are raising money for the West Berkshire branch of the National Autistic Society, supporting people affected by autism and their families. The Corn Exchange is one of the South East’s most dynamic venues presenting a variety of theatre, dance, music, comedy, film as well as Newbury Comedy Festival.

Who’s running? Nick Giles (Director), Jo Windsor (Finance Manager), Sam Sampson (Learning Manager), Debbie Rawlings (Box Office Assistant) and Matt Stevens (Box Office Assistant) joined by Chris Rawlings (Debbie’s husband…where are the other supportive spouses?!).

Help support us and the NAS by sponsoring us as generously as you can (remember to select the gift aid option if you can so that your donation goes even further).

Please come along to cheer us along the way (you can even buy us a drink afterwards!).
