Story
We are taking on the Aspire Channel Swim 2018, swimming the distance of the Channel over the next 8 weeks to raise money for Aspire.
Every eight hours someone is paralysed by a Spinal Cord Injury and Aspire provides the essential equipment, advice, housing and grants that spinal cord injured people need to live their lives independently. Being independent is so important as most people with a Spinal Cord Injury have been super active, super fit and are often younger when they have their injury. As a Chartered Physio I see the difference getting out and about and having an exercise and fitness regime makes to quality of life, mental health and even length of life. This is a big challenge, but the more we raise, the more of a difference we will make, so please be generous!
The whole family wants to be able to do something as a Team and as we are all happy to splash about we can all take part in this challenge! Its not going to be easy as we have to be committed to swim at least 3 times a week and try to get at least 60 lengths of a 25m pool each time! might be ok for the 14 and 11 year old but us older un fitter adults and the 10year old are struggling to keep up! most of our swims are planned for 6.30am or after 7.30pm- not the best time of year for doing it!
Thank you for donating and making us get in that pool!
