A lifelong ambition of mine is to run a marathon. On 19th September 2010 I completed the 30th Great North Run and figured with a bit more training I would be able to give a marathon a go.
Looking around at various marathon events I finally decided to enter the Marathon De Paris on Sunday 10th April 2011. It's a great course and should be not only enjoyable but full of famous landmarks.
I got my place and will be raising money for the Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland. Be assured that I'll be going to France at my own expense so every penny donated will go to the Butterwick Hospice.
Butterwick Hospice provides compassionate care free of charge to people over the age of 18 and their loved ones from its Hospices in Stockton on Tees and Bishop Auckland. For more information, click here.
Julie Nisbet is also doing the Butterwick Big One - You can follow her progress here.
