Story

Hello All,

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

The quid pro quo of an entry into the Marathon this year was an undertaking to raise a significant amount of money for one of the charities with guaranteed entries. The Institute of Cancer Research's Everyman campaign (for whom both my friend Harry and I are running) aims to raise awareness and funding for male cancers.

Obvioulsy a lot of good work has been done in recent years raising funds for cancers such as breast cancer, but blokes being blokes, we're backwards in coming forwards when it comes to testicular cancer and prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is THE most common cancer in men (ahead of lung cancer) and testicular cancer is the most common cancer affecting men aged 20-35. Grim stats, Im sure you will agree.

Please help me to raise money for Everyman. If you are a UK taxpayer your donation will be increased by almost a third at no cost to you. If you do not want to donate using this site, please just drop me an email at craig.squire@hsbcgroup.com letting me know how generous youre willing to be...

I will also try to update this page from time to time with my progress on training. So far Harry, John and I are feeling our combined age of 98 (thanks to Harry for contributing significantly less to this equation than John and me). The knees are creaking, but we are on track for sub-4 hrs. Well, for the first 13 miles anyway. Many thanks for your support. Craig
