I, for a friends memorial charity, have made a commitment to complete the 4x4x48 challenge starting the 5th March. Putting it simply, this is to run 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 consecutive hours . Therefore covering 48 miles, with very limited sleep and eating periods. I'd class myself as very fit, so asking for donations has rarely been my desire as fitness is my passion. However, this is quite an extraordinary challenge, so I ask for your support.

I will be asking friends and family to join me during these efforts. I fully expect to be doing the night shifts alone, since everybody else will be in the land of nod.

In such pressing times, it's vital we all do our very best in supporting those that are struggle. Being good people and giving our all to make a difference can have such a positive impact on people and organisations.

Sadly, my friend, Aiden Lowe, lost his life a few years ago. Something neither he, his family or community deserved. Aiden would have brought a bright light to what is a dark period in our lives currently. I saw the challenge and thought of Aiden's response if he were here.

The trust which was set up in his memory has supported local sporting facilities, since Aiden loved sport. These organisations were never previously that profitable, so the pandemic will have had a significant impact. The impact these places can have on peoples physical and mental wellbeing is incredible and needs to be supported.

"In Aiden's memory the family have decided to continue his legacy by creating 'Aiden's Gift'. This charitable trust will help fund sporting activities for children, young adults and their families affected by illness or disability to help put a smile on their faces in otherwise difficult times. The Trust currently does this through support for East Anglia Children's Hospices (E.A.C.H)"
